Because health equity is unequivocally tied to systemic racism, NYAM fully embraces addressing social justice issues to achieve its vision where everyone can live a healthy life. NYAM is conducting its work in focused ways to help address systemic racism and structural oppression—ways that build access for individuals and communities whose voices have not been heard and whose influence has not been fully realized.
