Women of Color in Fundraising and Philanthropy (WOC)®
Event Code of Conduct
Women of Color in Fundraising and Philanthropy (WOC)® exists to celebrate and advance the incredible women we are and the important work we do. We serve as a space where our experiences, feelings and perspectives are valued and afforded the respect they deserve. We hold ourselves to clear standards of behavior and communication.
During our virtual gatherings we ask WOC members, panelists, presenters and guests to:
Exercise consideration and respect in speech and actions;
Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech; and
Be mindful of your surroundings and thoughtful of your fellow participants.
We hold as unacceptable:
Comments, messages, or images that express a negative view with respect to, mock, or make the subject of ridicule or condemnation gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, age or national origin;
Inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images, as well as threatening, bullying or intimidation, including activity-related communication channels;
Disruption of presentations or other activities offered in a virtual setting;
Display of promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcement, or solicitation for services unless pre-authorized by WOC;
Promoting partisan initiatives or individual candidates for elected office; and
Copying or taking screen shots of Q&A or any chat room activity that takes place in the virtual space unless permitted by the session moderator.
If a person displays inappropriate behavior during a session, WOC leadership will mute the speaker or log them out of the session. Any members asked to leave a virtual session due to inappropriate or violent behavior will be subject to a review by WOC leadership to determine their continued participation in the group. We reserve the right to revoke membership status with no financial reimbursement and will block participation in future WOC gatherings.
